About the event

Join us for an evening where story meets song. Doors open at 6 and the program will begin at 6:15.

The powerful documentary, Stone Reader, teaches us that BOOKS ARE ALIVE inside us. The ripple effects of such an insight are impactful to say the least. Your being here tonight supports a second special reality: OrtizMusic “LIVES” deeply within us as well. Therefore, we are going to challenge you to take a leap and ponder the following literary / musical thought-experiment: While on his extraordinary journey, how does Dante / pilgrim become more sensitive and better focused through listening to selected songs from the extensive OrtizMusic canon? 700 years have passed since Dante’s Divine Comedy hit the bookshelves, and it’s about time that these inspirational troubadours from vastly different eras be formally introduced and become devoted, cross-pollinating teammates. Dante’s journey has finally “gone acoustic.” Welcome. Lace up your hiking boots, and let’s go…

Light snacks and refreshments will be available.

Copies of the book, The Music of the Spheres Gone Acoustic: Bob and Pam Ortiz Sing the Soundtrack of Dante's Divine Comedy by Dan Christian will be available for purchase at a special discounted price only at Read Rose Books. Profits of these sales will be donated to the Harry Chapin Foundation.
